For Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module [activate Project Portfolio Suite with Financials (com.snc.financial_planning_pmo) plugin], we have PMO Dashboard under Performance Analytics.
[Application Menu : Performance Analytics > Dashboards
Dashboards > All > PMO Dashboard]
NOTE : Need to activate both Performance Analytics (com.snc.pa) and Performance Analytics - Content Pack - Project Portfolio Suite with Financials Dashboards (com.snc.pa.pmo_dashboards) plugins to get PMO Dashboard.
An additional filter was required to be added to PMO Dashboard as below, based on which the reports would recalculate the number of projects and demands :
In our scenario, the filter will be on a custom field (u_primary_it_tower : Primary IT Tower) created on both pm_project (Project) and dmn_demand (Demand) tables. Primary IT Tower is a reference field, referencing to the table cmdb_ci_business_capability (Business Capability).
The filters are actually Breakdown Sources. The existing ones can be found in 'Breakdown Source' related tab of 'PMO Dashboard' (PMO Dashboard > bread crumb > Dashboard properties).
Please follow the below steps to achieve the above functionality
1. Create an Interactive Filter as below:
2. Create a Breakdown Source as below:
And Security > Security Type > Blacklist
Also, Label for unmatched field refers to a Single Score Report created in PMO Dashboard > Data quality tab, each for Project and Demand records for the particular field.
3. Create a Breakdown, as below :
Add the newly created Breakdown Source in the Breakdown record's Breakdown Source.
Further, add new Breakdown Mappings in related tab, referring to the fields on the pm_project and dmn_demand table based on which the filter should work.
Also, add Indicators in related tab, as below
Here I have taken example from existing 'Business Unit' breakdown of PMO Dashboard and haven't created and new Indicator records. This will create Indicator and Indicator Breakdown customer updates in your update set.
4. Now that you have created all the records, final step is to create a link between Interactive filter and Breakdown Source.
Go to PMO Dashboard properties, and click on Edit button in Breakdown Source related tab, to add Primary IT Tower as new Breakdown Source in the existing list for PMO Dashboard.
In this record, you will find a Act as filter field, which needs to be selected as the Interactive filter created for this Breakdown Source as per https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/madrid-performance-analytics-and-reporting/page/use/dashboards/ta....
5. Test : Go to PMO Dashboard and select 'Primary IT Tower' from filter list. Select a business capability record from auto suggested list of Primary IT Towers. You will find the single score reports getting updated with new calculated values.
I hope you find this article helpful.
Thank you!

Hi Pranshu,
Thanks for this article.
I observed that single score reports are getting updated with it.
but the reports with bar chards / pie charts are not getting updated with these steps.
Is this expected behaviour?
Is there any way to update all the reports.
Regards,
Venkata

I would like to add an additional filter but instead of reference field like the example, I want to add a filter for a choice field. Can someone provide an example of setting up the filter for a choice field?
