I want to Implement Software asset management system project using My serviceNow PDI. Since SAM pro plugin is not available , can I use lab instance of SAM fundamental course to build my project?

Hi @AnkithaH

Your PDI won’t have SAM Pro unless you request it via the HI portal and meet the requirements, so the lab instance is the easiest option for hands-on work. Just note that the lab instance is temporary and will be wiped after the course period, so export any configurations you want to keep.

You can follow this link to enable SAM module in PDI,

Hi @AnkithaH

the PRO might be a problem to get on your PDI 😕

However going to the SAM Fundamental course is a good idea because you will get the instance and you can extend it and have it for cca 20 days but then it will be revoked so it's not good idea to build your project there, unless you want to prepare a demo and for example make article/video about it but it won't be available on demand only in limited period of time...

Hi @AnkithaH ,

Create your dev instance on the Washington release. Activate the SAM Pro plugins there (they’re available on Washington). Once the plugins are active, run the SAM Guided Setup to get SAM Workspace. After that, upgrade the instance to the latest release.

Step-by-step (simple):

  1. Spin up a dev instance on Washington.

  2. Activate SAM plugins.

  3. Run SAM Guided Setup → this enables SAM Workspace.

  4. Upgrade the instance to the latest release.

Regards,

Abhishek
