Out-of-the-box, ServiceNow gives you the Hardware Asset Management features that cover hardware at a very basic level:
Asset table: create and track hardware assets (like laptops, servers, network gear).
Lifecycle states: OOB states such as In Stock, In Use, Retired.
CMDB link: hardware assets can be tied to CIs in the CMDB.
Service Catalog requests: users can request devices, and those requests can be tied to asset records.
Basic procurement and disposal: receive assets against purchase orders, and retire/decommission them when no longer needed.
Reporting: simple reports/dashboards based on the asset data you enter.
That’s pretty much the starting point. If you want more advanced things like automated lifecycle workflows, reclamation, normalization, or stock rules, you’ll need HAM Pro.
