Could someone explain the BRs, Script includes, etc. in the Procurement process?

On a PDI with just Asset Management/Procurement installed, I'm able to create a sourceable catalog item and use the OOB Procurement Process - Hardware Workflow to generate a sourcing task on the request.

On my company's instance, which has HAM Pro/Procurement installed, I do the exact same thing, create a sourceable catalog, add a vendor, etc. When I request it through the Service Catalog, using the same Workflow, it passes the Service Catalog Request workflow, then starts the RITM and stops at the Waiting for item to be sourced and no Catalog Task is created.

Could someone tell me the order of BR execution, client scripts and script includes or where I should look when it just stops and doesn't create the Source catalog task?

I am guessing  it probably lies in the ProcurementUtils?
Thank you for any help you might have.

@LKSN

It's may be due to a configuration difference between your company's instance and your PDI.

However sometimes the workflow is getting stuck because a required field is not being populated as expected.

Did you analyze the workflow on your company instance.

  • Open the RITM that is stuck.

  • Right-click the form header and select Show Workflow.

  • Look for the "Procurement Process - Hardware" workflow.

  • Identify the activity where the workflow is paused (it will have a blue border). It's almost certain this is a "Wait for condition" activity or a script that is not properly updating a field.

If this helped to answer your query, please mark it helpful & accept the solution.
Thanks!
